This week, we had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Ram Rao, a neuroscientist, board-certified Ayurveda practitioner, and Registered Yoga teacher who believes that in order to achieve optimal health and wellness and overcome many of the diseases associated with aging, we need to make sure that our body, mind, and emotions are in sync. In his book, Good Living Practices, he provides hundreds of tips on how to keep your body, mind, and emotions in sync 24/7 in order to experience optimal health and wellness. Ram holds a doctorate degree in Neurosciences and was a Research Associate Professor of Neuroscience at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, Novato, CA. His research focus was on the areas of chronic stress, neuronal cell death, and mechanisms of age-associated neurodegenerative diseases with special emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease.
Ram has 20+ years of research and teaching experience in Neuroscience and has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in scientific journals and chapters in a couple of textbooks. Ram has supervised, trained, and mentored several high school students, college interns, research technicians, and post-doctoral fellows.
Ram is also a board-certified Ayurveda practitioner and a registered yoga teacher. He teaches Ayurveda and Yoga at the California College of Ayurveda. He has published several articles in major Yoga/Ayurveda magazines and has been a featured speaker in several national and international meetings and symposia on Yoga & Ayurveda.
Ram is also the author of a recently published best-selling book-“Good Living Practices”-The best from Ayurveda, Yoga, and Modern Science For Achieving Optimal Health, Happiness, and Longevity.
